The Belgian Shepherd Dog comes in four varieties, which differ in appearance:
Malinois: reddish-brown with black face, short-haired
Tervueren: reddish-brown with black face or gray, long-haired
Groenendael: black, long-haired
Laekenois: reddish-brown or gray, rough-haired/curly
All Belgian Shepherds have an athletic, muscular build. They are intelligent, full of energy, have a pronounced eagerness to work and are regarded as faithful and loyal companions, but require consistent training and a lot of mental and physical effort. a lot of mental and physical physical activity. Belgian shepherd dogs were originally bred to help shepherds with their sheep. Today, they are mainly used as sport and service dogs, e.g. in the military or by the police.
