Chow Chow

The Chow Chow has a muscular, compact build and is known for its characteristic blue tongue. The coat is dense and soft and can come in different colors such as red, black, blue, cream and cinnamon. The fluffy coat requires a lot of grooming and must be brushed regularly to prevent matting.

Chow Chows are proud and independent dogs that require clear leadership and consistent training. They are not overly active and do not need much exercise. However, they do like to be outside and enjoy walks and outdoor playtime. Despite their independent nature, Chow Chows can be very loving and loyal companions, especially if they are socialized and properly trained from puppyhood.

The Chow Chow was originally bred as a guard dog and is therefore very territorial and suspicious of strangers.
