Galgo Español

The Galgo Español, also known as the Spanish Greyhound, has a slender, elegant build with long, muscular legs, a narrow head and a long, thin muzzle. Its coat is short and silky and can have different colors, including white, black, brown, and brindle, each with or without white patches.

Galgo Español are known for their grace, speed and stamina. They have a very sensitive nature and need a gentle hand in training and care. Galgos are extremely loving and affectionate towards their owners and can be reserved towards strangers. They are very intelligent and learn quickly. The Galgo Español needs plenty of exercise and room to run. If this is guaranteed, they are calm and relaxed indoors.

Galgos were originally bred as hunting dogs for hares and other wild animals and are still widely used in this role today. Their hunting instinct is correspondingly pronounced.
