A mixed breed dog is a dog that is the result of a cross between two or more different dog breeds. Mixed breeds can have different sizes, colors and characteristics depending on the breeds from which they are descended. Some may inherit characteristics from both parents, while others may be more like a particular breed.
There can also be variations in the temperament of mixed-breed dogs. Due to the diversity of their ancestry, mixed breeds are more robust and resilient than purebred dogs. They are also less susceptible to certain genetic diseases that are more common in purebred dogs.
When breeding mixed-breed dogs, the characteristics of the original breeds can be specifically combined. This can result in new breeds that are ideal for certain purposes. On the other hand, natural crossbreeding (e.g. with street dogs) can also lead to unique and interesting combinations.
