Shetland Sheepdog

The Shetland Sheepdog or Sheltie looks like a mini collie and is known for its elegant appearance and intelligence. Shelties have a dense, double-layered coat that can come in a variety of colors, such as black, blue, brown and tricolor.

Shelties are lively, intelligent and attentive. They love to learn and are considered affectionate and loving towards their family. Shelties can also show a certain shyness towards strangers. Due to their energetic temperament, Shelties need regular exercise and activity.

Shelties were originally bred to help shepherds herd sheep. Even today, they still have a strong herding instinct and are good at looking after sheep and other animals.
