Shiba Inu

The Shiba Inu is known for its characteristic thick coat, which can come in a variety of colors, including red, black with brown patches, brown-gray, red-gray and cream, which protects them from the extreme temperatures in Japan. The breed has a compact build, pointed ears and carries its tail curled up on its back.

Shiba Inus are known for their independence and stubbornness, but also for their loyalty to their owners. They are intelligent and highly perceptive.

Shiba Inus are active dogs and need regular exercise and activity to stay happy and healthy. They also have a strong hunting instinct and should therefore be kept on a lead. Shiba Inus are considered territorial and can be aloof or aggressive towards strangers and other dogs. They therefore need clear leadership and consistent training.
